UPSC Answer Key

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) organizes an All-India Level Competitive examination named Civil services examination (CSE) every year, for appointing large number of candidates for several Central Government Services such as Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Information Service (IIS), Indian Postal Service (IPoS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and many more. UPSC Civil services examination is held in three phases likely, Prelims, Mains – written Examination and Interview.

UPSC releases officially the answer key for UPSC Civil services Preliminary examination after execution of the process of recruitment. Mains-written exam Answer key is yet not released by UPSC.

Candidates shall cross-check accurate options for every question raised in UPSC CSE Prelims Exam with aid of official UPSC answer key and assess their opinions as marked at time of the UPSC CSE Prelims examination. Answer key for each question booklet series A, B, C and D for General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II.

UPSC Answer Key :Prelims Exam

UPSC civil services Prelims exam comprise of two compulsory papers – General Studies Paper I (GS Paper I) and General Studies Paper II (GS Paper II) with 200 marks each. All questions in these Papers are Objective type (multiple choice questions). Assess all the basic details on UPSC website.
 
UPSC formulates four set of Question Booklet A, B, C and D for Paper I and Paper II of UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam, in which any one set of the Question Booklet is provided to the candidates going to attend UPSC Civil Services Prelims Examination.

UPSC Answer Key : Prelims Exam – General Studies Paper I

Marks achieved in General Studies Paper I of UPSC CSE Prelims Exam is held for shortlisting to Mains Exam. This GS Paper -I comprise of 100 objective type questions for 200 marks.

UPSC Answer Key: Prelims Exam – General Studies Paper II

Marks achieved in General Studies Paper II (GS Paper -II) of UPSC CSE Prelims Exam is held for shortlisting to Mains Exam. This GS Paper -II comprises of 80 objective type questions for 200 marks. Every question consists of 2.5 marks. Candidates need to mandatorily score minimum qualifying marks i.e. 66 marks out of 200 marks, that is 33% of 200 marks, in General, Studies paper II.

Calculation of UPSC Prelims Total Score with UPSC Answer key:

  • Score of GS Paper I = {No. of correctly answered questions x 2 marks} – {No. of wrongly answered questions x 0.66 marks}
  • Score of GS Paper II = {No. of correctly answered questions x 2.5 marks} – {No. of wrongly answered questions x 0.85 marks}
  • Total Marks of Prelims exam = Paper I score + Paper 2 score

UPSC : Final Ranking

Final Ranking of several services which fall under UPSC Civil Services Examination is organized based on UPSC CSE Mains – Written Exam (7 Compulsory Papers) marks and Interview marks. UPSC Result will be released along with All India Rank (AIR) of candidates, that aggregates the marks attained in all 7 Compulsory Papers of Mains written exam and Interview. Aspirants qualified for Final Merit List shall be given various civil services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, etc. considering in view that their All India Rank in the UPSC exam and inclinations expressed by them for the several services and posts.
