UPSC Civil Services (Prelims):  Marking Scheme 

The answer key is very needful to know the correct answers and consequently predict the scores attained in the exam. Candidates must refer the UPSC answer key after performing for an exam. For predicting the scores, candidates need to get familiar with the marking scheme. One might refer to the front page of the question paper for understanding the marking scheme:

General Studies (Paper I): Two marks shall be awarded for every correct answer. For every wrong answer, one-third of the marks provided to that question shall be deducted as penalty.

CSAT (Paper-II): 2.5 marks shall be awarded for every correct answer. For the wrong answer, one-third of the marks assigned to that question shall be deducted as penalty.
